Happy Friday friends!! I’ve been posting a lot of my workouts on instagram in videos, but I thought I’d start sharing some here too! Do you guys have a preference? I’m working on getting all of my instagram videos up on the blog as well so you can essentially find them in both places!
Most days I go to the gym to workout, but when I just can’t get there or I want to do a workout at the beach or park….or in front of this beautiful garage (nope, it’s not mine), I like to do quick HIIT workouts like this one. HIIT training is High Intensity Interval Training– where you perform high intensity exercises combined with lower intensity, active rest type exercises in between. They’re intended to be fast-paced and TORCH calories. So let’s do this Skater-Burpee Ladder thang. It’s deceptively hard + I hope you love it.
I mean….burpees are hard to love but you know what I mean….
Let me explain! First warm up for 10 minutes, jogging in place, doing jumping jacks, etc.
Then, the workout starts with an ascending skater-burpee ladder and ends with a decreasing skater-burpee ladder, with four exercises in between.
1-10 skater-burpee ladder:
1 skater, 1 burpee. 2 skaters, 1 burpee. 3 skaters, 1 burpee. And so forth until you do 10 skaters, 1 burpee.
move on to the next 4 exercises:
15 alternating leg plank toe touches
20 alternating leg jumping lunges
20 plank jacks
10 inch-worm push-ups
finish with the descending skater-burpee ladder
10-1 skater-burpee ladder:
10 skaters, 1 burpee. 9 skaters, 1 burpee. 8 skaters, 1 burpee. And so forth until you do 1 skater, 1 burpee.
REPEAT 2-3 times
Give it a whirl and let me know what you think!! What makes the skater-burpee ladders especially tough, is the quick switch from later movement to vertical movement!
PS. I’m loving these GapFit Breathe side-tie tees right now. They’re breathable, light weight and loose. Good for working out, lounging, or from workout-to-running-all the errands. I think they call it gym-to-street, but i’m not that cool to say that 😉
