The Bloxels® Gameboard and Bloxels® Builder App is a creative game for kids of all ages! My boys are loving it and I love seeing their creativity come to life!
Hello friends! We are really excited to be partnering with Bloxels today to show you their new, hands-on building system that enables kids to create their very own video games directly on the physical Bloxels® Gameboard, then activate with the Bloxels® Builder App and a mobile device to play out the game!
My boys (all four of them) love playing games on the iPad (I mean, what kid doesn’t?) We try to be really careful about the kinds of games they get to play and limit the amount of time they get to play too. They usually have to earn time to play by doing some simple chores, homework without whining, or for good behavior. We love that Bloxels encourages creativity, is hands-on (not just their hands holding the iPad, ha), and a game they all like to help and play together! I feel even better about their time spent on the iPad when one of us is helping and playing with them.
I know this is video game talk–but you can build layouts, design, and animate characters, develop villains, add power-ups, and so much more. You start by building the designs for everything on the Bloxels® Gameboard and then activating it with the Bloxels® Builder App. The Builder App is a free download on your mobile device and available for Apple iOS, Android, and Kindle phones and tablets. So pretty much anyone can play! The game board retails for $49.99 (thinking this could be a great gift for kiddos!) and is available October 1st in stores.
The boys seriously think it’s the coolest. Both O and Miles need Brett’s help to get started, but the game is customizable and can be really simple or more complex. I think it will be a game they can enjoy for years because it can always be made more challenging!
Graham loves to throw all of the tiny little squares used for building and designing, so I like to let Owen and Miles play while Graham is napping! And I made them a batch of my Coconut Oil Chocolate Chip Cookies one Sunday afternoon while they played to make it a little more special and fun.
There is really nothing better than watching all my boys doing something together, laughing and giggling as they build the characters and design the levels in the game. And their faces when they see their designs come to life in the game. It’s pretty great!
Let me know if your kiddos like it too!
