We eat a lot of yogurt around here- it’s one of our go-to healthy snacks and that’s why I love it–everyone will eat it! I have to stock up weekly and with school starting next week I know it’s one thing I can count on my kids to eat for breakfast, in lunches, or for a snack after school. Favorite place to stock up- Target (always checking my cartwheel app for deals). And I’ve got a couple of back to school breakfasts and snacks for you using our favorite yogurt- Strawberries and Cream Oatmeal (healthy!) and a fun Strawberry Cheesecake Dip. Keep scrolling for both!
We all love the Oikos Triple Zero Blended Greek Yogurts and the Strawberry Cheesecake Light & Fit Greek Yogurt is one of my favorites to grab when I’m craving something sweet! I love that both the Oikos and Light &Fit are made with zero artificial sweeteners or added sugars, and just taste so freaking good! Right? We love our yogurt plain, making fruit and yogurt parfaits, adding both to smoothies for the boys but lately, we’re all loving this Strawberries and Cream Oatmeal.
This is just like the strawberries & cream instant oatmeal packets that kids love. Or is that just mine that like it? I actually did too growing up, but they are full of sugar and artificial sweeteners and even though a packet of instant oatmeal IS convenient, I’d so much rather make our own and it only takes a few minutes more.
Strawberries and Cream Oatmeal:
•cook 1/2 cup oats in 2/3 cup water in the microwave
•add a scoop of Oikos Triple Zero Strawberry Blended Greek Yogurt
•add a splash of milk/almond milk (or even a cream or half n half!)
•add some fresh diced strawberries. Stir everything together and enjoy!
**I love eating oats while I’m breastfeeding so even I’m loving this. I go with a splash of almond milk 🙂 One Triple Zero Yogurt adds 8 grams of protein to one bowl of oatmeal, which with the oats will help keep tummies full all morning.
And for when the kids come running through the door- RAVENOUS- after school- I’ve got this Strawberry Cheesecake Dip up my sleeve. My boys go crazy for it! We like to serve the “dip” with Annie’s Graham crackers and fresh fruit.
Strawberry Cheesecake Dip:
•2 Danon Light & Fit Strawberry Cheesecake Greek Yogurt
•whipped cream
•graham cracker crumbs for topping
Scoop the yogurt into a bowl, top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of graham cracker crumbs. Then just serve it with graham crackers, fruit, or anything else you’d like to dip it in!
And now that the babies are 6 months old want ALL THE FOOD, they’ve got their own yogurt too! They love these Happy Family Organic Yogurts. Baby’s first whole milk yogurts! So while the rest of us are enjoying ours, Jack and Livi get some too!
But guys….it’s sooo messy!
Especially when your 3 year old wants to feed them!
Are you guys yogurt lovers? Stock up on your favorites and Target and give these quick recipes a try as you start back to school! Hope you love them like we do!
