I realize this dip may sound like an overload, but it’s really not. I do love sweets, but even I have a “too sweet” limit. Peanut butter and cream cheese suit each other so well, and I added just a smidgen of caramel (and a little brown sugar + vanilla) to sweeten it up just right.
This dip is versatile. It’s perfect for dipping apples, bananas, or any other fruit; goes great with pretzels, crackers, and anything salty; and it makes for a delightful breakfast smeared on an English muffin, slice of toast, or a bagel.
If you’re making this for a crowd you may want to double (dare I say triple) the recipe. It doesn’t last long for our little party of two here. But then again, nothing with peanut butter lasts long around me.
Peanut Butter and Caramel Cream Cheese Dip
Ingredients
8 oz. cream cheese, room temp
1/2 c. peanut butter
2 tbs. brown sugar
1 1/2 tbs. caramel sauce
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Instructions
Beat cream cheese and brown sugar together until smooth. Add peanut butter, caramel, and vanilla extract and continue beating until combined and creamy.
Chill in the fridge until ready to serve. It will firm up a little in the fridge so I like to set it out a few minutes before serving to soften it up just a little.
Serve with whatever suits your fancy.
Mmm. My friend made just the peanut butter version of this for a party and I embarassingly ate so much of it. I had just ran 10 miles that day (back in sept) so I guess I was feeling entitled.
I bought these tortilla chip-things yesterday that are CHOCOLATE. That’s right, chocolate chips. They are semi-sweet with a little bit of sea salt on them but as I was munching on them I was thinking to myself…”I wish I had something to dip these in.” I think this recipe would be perfection!
Yum! I have a similar recipe but I think it uses yogurt. But who wants yogurt when you can have cream cheese!!!
cream cheese and peanut butter! why haven’t i put that together? well. i made this and it’s, um, almost gone. i made a half batch because i knew i’d love it, and i did. thanks! 🙂
