**This just in, what I am calling breakfast pasta is really just carbonara. It just sounds more fun calling it bacon ‘n’ egg pasta.
Owen and I have a pretty good morning routine going for ourselves. He wakes up between 6:30 and 7:00, I feed him his oatmeal, grab a banana, and we head to the gym. We get home, he naps, and I shower-clean-blog-etc, but not always in that order. Like right now, I’ve yet to shower or clean. I usually make myself a protein shake too.
After a 7 mile run this morning (that’s a long run for me), I was famished and craving a hearty-meaty-eggy kind of breakfast. You feel me? A light shake wasn’t going to cut it.
So I made this bacon ‘n’ egg breakfast pasta. Yes, pasta for breakfast. It’s no weirder than eating leftover pizza for breakfast, and I know we’ve all done that a time or two (right?). Trust me on this one, it’s good.

I was making crepes last week and noticed that I was out of milk. Duh. So I used sweetened condensed milk instead. Naughty.
The result was HA-mazing. But then it required a thick slather of Nutella. Strawberries would have been good too, but I didn’t have any. YUM YUM.
Otherwise, I also eat Nutella with a spoon. If you can find any good recipes INCLUDING Nutella, I’d love to hear it!

No Nutella recipes … not a big fan of it myself. The breakfast pasta sounds good, though. Also, I got this in an email today and thought I’d pass it along ๐ If you click to print it, it’s easier to see the whole list rather than having to click through all the different pages.

http://www.applesandtwinkies.com/2011/01/nutella-pound-cake.html I have a good Nutella pound cake on my blog. Check it out. There’re a couple of Nutella cookies on there as well.
I love this bacon and eggs pasta. It’s like carbonara- one of my favorites!

Between the Nutella and the Carbonara, you are turning into an Italian! My companion and I used to make your pasta dish to fill ourselves up on Zone Conference days when we had to get up early and travel a long ways and eat lunch late!

What a great idea! Have you ever tried it with leftover pasta? I always overestimate how much pasta we’re going to need and then have leftover.
No nutella recipes. I haven’t had any since 8th grade spanish class.

Way to go on the seven miler today girl! I use nutella with crapes…but that probably doesn’t help much because you are still eating it by the spoonful!

mmm! I can eat pasta at any time during the day. You definitely deserve it after 7 miles! congrats!

haha! Looks “strangely” delicious! I’ll have to try it some time. I’ve been known to eat a piece of pie for breakfast before so why not a healthy pasta dish?! Especially if I’d just run 7 miles (WOW that’s awesome!) I’d eat whatever my tummy desired!
