As a kid I was OBSESSED with Orange Julius’s. I think I even have a copy cat recipe on here somewhere that I used to make all the time when Brett and I were first married. It’s LOADED with sugar you guys, but soo so good. I know my boys would love it but we decided to whip up a much healthier version for them to try! So we made this Copycat Healthy Orange Julius and they love it!
I like to make most of my smoothies and shakes with unsweetened almond or coconut milk, but Owen is allergic to both, so we stick to regular cow’s milk for the boys. They absolutely love Horizon Organic! We all do! So much, we’ve partnered with them on a series of posts, creating recipes using their products. We love all of their products-from mac and cheese, milk, snack crackers, and love their mission to change the way kids eat–keep the weird stuff out and champion real, organic food that still tastes mouthwatering good!
This Copycat Healthy Orange Julius is made with clean, simple ingredients and is so easy Owen has started making it on his own! THIS IS HUGE YOU GUYS! He’s been making his smoothie and toast every morning for all the boys WHILE I SLEEP ( you know cause they wake up at 6:30am!) It’s heavenly.
All that goes into this baby is Horizon Organic 2% milk, one whole orange, a frozen banana, honey, vanilla extract, a little orange zest and ice! Voila!
Your kiddos will LOVE it (and so will you)! It’s the perfect morning smoothie or healthy afternoon treat to enjoy this last month of August and into the school year!
