Brett’s parents were in town last weekend to celebrate our niece Kyle’s baptism and newest nephew, William’s, baby blessing. My mother-in-law made these Orange Knots for the family gathering held at Brett’s brother’s house afterward.
There was hardly a minute of down-time during their visit so Sheri ended up making these late Friday night so they’d be ready for Saturday. She let us have a taste when they came out of the oven at nearly midnight. Why does everything taste so good at midnight?
I couldn’t wait to get my hands on one the next day (and even caught my husband sneaking one for breakfast). That’s when I decided to snap a picture and share the recipe, even though I didn’t do any of the work. Thank you Sheri!

Most of you probably already have this recipe as they are one of Rhodes’ most popular recipes. But if not, I think they’ll make a perfect addition to your Easter Brunch or Dinner. The citrus glaze on these practically makes them a dessert. But not on Easter. Not when there’s carrot cake, pies, cookies and lots of chocolate to eat!
Orange Knots
Ingredients
12 Rhodes Dinner Rolls, thawed but still cold
1 medium orange rind, grated
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup butter, melted
Citrus Glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
1 tablespoon butter, melted
3 tablespoons orange juice
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
Mix grated orange rind with sugar. Roll each roll into a 9-inch rope. Tie in a loose knot. Roll each knot in melted butter and then in rind/sugar mixture. Place on a large sprayed baking sheet. Cover with sprayed plastic wrap and let double in size. Remove wrap. Bake at 350°F 15-20 minutes. Remove from pan and place on cooling rack. Brush with citrus glaze while still warm.
I recommend serving them warm too!
