My old boss used to come into work almost every morning with this funky-looking green drink. It took me a few months of working there to finally ask, “What the heck are you drinking?”
When he told me it was full of spinach, I almost gagged. But he told me how nutritious it was, and that I just had to try it. It took me a while, but I eventually did, and I didn’t gag! To my surprise it was delicious. Now, I love to have a green smothie for breakfast, it’s so refreshing.
If you were to ask my boss for the recipe to his green smoothie, he’d probably say something like this, “Just throw lots of spinach, an apple, a banana, a whole lemon (rind and all), some ice, and maybe some orange juice, club soda, or water to it. Maybe even a dash of honey to sweeten it up.”
This is what I’ve found works for me…..
slightly adapted from Paul Brockbank
I have yet to experiment adding other fruits, but I think strawberries or raspberries could be a good addition! You could aslo sweeten it up with some splenda or other low-cal sweetener.

I have been wanting to try this smoothie ever since you posted it and FINALLY got around to it! I was out of lemons so I just used an orange and added a couple strawberries to it and it was fab and refreshing!

I added a little bit of honey, and some milk instead of the water. So good!
