These Ham n Swiss Heart Crescents make for a super quick and easy Valentine’s lunch {or snack}!
Start with two crescent triangles and place a piece of ham and Swiss cheese on each. Then just roll each crescent up, starting with the wide end. As you roll it, shape one end to be rounded- like the top of a heart- and shape the other end to come to more of a point-like the bottom half of a heart.
Then just press the two rolls together to make a heart, pressing and gently pinching the dough where they touch together. Make sense? Your hearts don’t have to be perfect. Mine certainly weren’t. It kind of makes them look rustic, right?
Then just pop ’em in the oven and bake until golden and no longer doughy.
Kinda cute if you ask me. Especially with that little {imperfect} heart of mustard.
These are sure to be a hit with the kids, and a quick and easy way for you to make them feel special and loved this Valentine’s Day!
Ham n Swiss Crescent Hearts
Ingredients
1 pkg Pillsbury refrigerated crescent roll dough
8 slices of deli Ham
8 slices of Swiss cheese
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375.
Separate crescent roll dough into 8 triangles. Place a slice of ham and a slice of Swiss cheese on each triangle. {Fold the ham and cheese in half lengthwise to fit on the crescent triangle without hanging off the edge.}
Starting with the wide end of the crescent triangle, roll up. Round the top ends to look like the top-half of a heart, and shape the bottoms to look like the bottom-half of a heart.
Take two of the rolled crescents and press them together at the mid-section forming a heart. Pinch and seal the dough so the two rolls stick together. Try to make sure the dough is sealed at both ends so you don’t have any oozing.
Place on a lightly greased baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden and no longer doughy. Serve immediately (with a cute little mustard heart).
