I Heart Chick-Fil-A {Givewaway}

On the rare occasion we eat fast food we always prefer Chick-Fil-A.  It’s one fast food restaurant I fell in love with when I moved to Utah over six years ago.  We didn’t have one where I grew up nor where I went to college, but there’s a couple here in Utah and Utah folk are crazy for some Chick-Fil-A!  There’s one just five minutes from my house and on any given day of the week it’s jam packed.  Swarming with moms and kids–it’s the best lunch play date!

I’ve always loved how fresh their food tastes, especially their chicken.  Ohhh the chicken is so good. Nine times out of ten I order the chicken nuggets along with my three year old:) But Chick-Fil-A just came out with some fresh new salads that I love!  And a few weeks ago, the restaurant hosted ten of me and my girlfriends for a Salad Tasting Party.  

We toured the kitchen (I can’t believe how clean it was), learned all about how FRESH their food is, and had fun sampling each of the new salads along with anything else on the menu!  Did you know that all of their chicken is made fresh daily?  I love that, no wonder it tastes so good. chickfilacollageHere’s a look at each of the salads….   

 Chick-fil-A Cobb Salad: Chick-fil-A Nuggets, pressure-cooked, sliced and served hot on a fresh bed of chopped romaine lettuce and baby greens, topped with shredded red cabbage and carrots, roasted corn kernels, a blend of shredded Monterey Jack and cheddar cheeses, crumbled bacon, diced eggs and grape tomatoes. Made fresh daily. Served with Charred Tomato Crispy Red Bell Peppers and Avocado Lime Ranch dressing (or guest’s choice of dressing). The salad is 430 calories and contains 39 grams of protein. 

 Chick-fil-A Asian Salad: Chick-fil-A Nuggets, pressure-cooked, sliced and served hot on a fresh bed of chopped romaine lettuce and baby greens, topped with shredded red and green cabbage, carrots and mandarin orange segments. Served with Honey Thai Almonds, Chinese Garlic & Ginger Wontons and Honey Sesame dressing (or guest’s choice of dressing). The salad has 330 calories and 13 grams of fat.

 Chick-fil-A Grilled Market Salad: Grilled and sliced chicken breast served on a fresh bed of chopped romaine lettuce and baby greens, topped with shredded red cabbage and carrots, crumbled blue cheese and a mix of red and green apples, strawberries and blueberries. Served with Harvest Nut Granola, Roasted Nut Blend and Zesty Apple Cider Vinaigrette (or guest’s choice of dressing). The salad has 180 calories, 4 grams of fat and includes two servings of vegetables and one serving of fruit.

My favorite is the Grilled Market Salad! I love the grilled chicken, all the yummy toppings, and the Apple Cider Vinegar is pretty tasty.  Thanks for the night out with my girlfriends Chick-Fil-A, we love your new salads!!

  17. We love Chik Fil A…..Nothing else like it…..of course, I grew up eating them since they started here in Atlanta. These salads look soooo good, I cant wait to try them!!

  23. I’ve tried the Cobb salad (my husband brought it home for me), but I’m not a fan of bell peppers or eggs on my salad. I wish you could ask for certain things to be left off, but they don’t allow that. Oh, well. I love Chick-fil-a nonetheless. 🙂

  31. I love Chick-fil-a too!!! I like the grilled market salad best as well. We missed them when we lived out of Utah and are excited to be back!

  32. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Chik-fil-a. To the pt that I want to franchise it in the Northeast! I get it EVERY single trip I visit my home in the south and it’s a must to get chicken biscuits at least once a weekend! Can’t wait to try the new salads- their old ones were great so guessing these must be even better 🙂

  33. We love Chick-fil-a and were so excited when they finally built free standing (not in mall food court) restaurants in Missouri. Unfortunately, once the chain owner made it clear that the company is anti-human rights we can no longer eat there. I believe that we teach our children by example. My family has a number of gay and lesbian friends who we support in their fight for basic human rights in America.

  41. I’m a HUGE CFA fan, but I haven’t tried any of the salads yet. I am really eager to try them! I think that my first choice to try is going to be your favorite – the Market Salad. It looks soooooo good!

  43. We love Chick-fil-A! I love their chicken & fresh fruit salad, and our pickiest eater (who does not usually like chicken) LOVES their nuggets. I’d love to win! =)

  46. I have not tried the salad. My standby favorite has always been the grilled chicken wrap with no dressing. Absolutely a wonderful meal, fresh and tasty and low in bad stuff. I’d probably favor the grilled chicken salad.

    On another note, when you just need some comfort food, those chicken fingers and a chocolate brownie bring you back to sanity very fast.

  59. I drive 20 mins to the closest Chick-fil-a as often as possible…the line is always long but it is ALWAYS worth the wait! These new salads look amazing!! 🙂

  83. I’m pretty sure if I could eat Chicken-Fil-A for every meal I would and probably bathe in their delicious sweet tea….. And yes I know it’s “Chick”-fil-a buuuut I like to say Chicken-Fil-A better (maybe its a Texas thing?)

  87. LOVE Chick-Fil-A! We never had one until AFTER I went to college. Came back, and one had sprung up about 1/2 hour from my house. And, yes, we will sometimes drive that 1/2 hour JUST for Chick-Fil-A. It’s worth it. 😉

  89. We lived in Utah our whole lives and never ate at Chick-fil-a.
    We moved to Mississippi this year and tried it one day and have been fans ever since. My kids LOVE it.
    We went just last week and I decided to get the Cobb Salad. (I never order salads… especially at a fast food restaurant) But I LOVED it. I have been craving another one since then! We are Big Chick-fil-a fans now!

  97. Just found your blog through pintrest and though I traditionally don’t mix food with politics, I was bothered by this post. I don’t know if you realize this, but Chick-fil-a is anti-LGBT to the extreme and has donated money to the Family Research Council, which also advocates that homosexual individuals do not receive equal treatment under the law. In fact, this organization lobbied to have language which expressess that homosexual individuals are entitled to human rights protections, REMOVED from a Congressional resolution that condemned a bill in Uganda that promotes killing and or jailing homosexual individuals–in other words a bill that denies human rights protections to homosexual individuals. Even if you don’t agree with gay marriage, supporting a company that supports an organization who denies that homosexuals are entitled to basic human rights protections, including the right to live, looks really bad and is not right. If you didn’t know about this, now you know and can hopefully make better decisions in the future as to the kinds of food companies you support in the future.
