Thank you for supporting my partnership with The Mom it Forward Network and Toca Boca to bring you this post. All opinions are my own.
When the Mom It Forward Network asked me to review the new Toca Kitchen 2 App with my four year old , I jumped at the opportunity! Owen loves the Toca Boca games and loves helping me in the kitchen, so I knew Toca Kitchen 2 would be a great one for him to play! The app is all about allowing kids to have freedom in the kitchen and having fun with food!
This app is awesome for my picky little eater. In it, he plays with new foods that he chooses from the fully stocked refrigerator, prepares and cooks it however he wants, and then feeds it to his guests (the three characters in the app). I love hearing him laugh and giggle at the different reactions the characters give when they eat something he’s created–sometimes they like it, and sometimes they don’t! I played around with the app too and it’s actually really fun, easy to use and I like that there are no in-app purchases or third party advertising. So it’s a safe digital place for kids to play!
After letting him be creative in Toca Kitchen 2 for several days, he got to be creative in OUR kitchen. I told Owen he could make anything he wanted and of course he chose cookies! The kid is a cookie monster, just like his mama. Owen said he wanted to make Kit Kat Cookies with whipped cream and sprinkles on top ๐
So that’s what he did! After a trip to the grocery store just for Kit Kats he was ready to go…
He’s not a fan of getting his hands messy, so it was so good for him to do almost everything all by himself, to get messy and learn to enjoy it ๐ It was also good for me to step back and let him make the mess (I’m not always good at that)!
Kit Kats are Owen’s favorite candy bar so it didn’t really surprise me that he wanted to mix them into cookies.
And if the cookies weren’t loaded with enough sugar, Owen really wanted to top them with whipped cream and sprinkles ๐ The boy has a sweet tooth!
Toca Kitchen 2 is available on the Apple App Store for iPhone, iPad and Ipod touch for just $0.99! We are having so much fun with the app and in our kitchen! Here’s a little video of Owen’s final product!!
