Carrian from Oh Sweet Basil is here today sharing one of her fabulous recipes! Carrian is one of the few blog friends that I’ve actually met in person. In fact, we live just a few miles from each other! Some day I think I’ll just pop on over to her house and sample whatever it is she’s making that day….it’s bound to be something amazing!
Here’s Carrian…
I’m so thrilled to be guest posting on Sweet Treats & More today. Kristy is such an awesome friend, and her site is as lovely as she is. Seriously, you would not believe how many of her treats we are always making. I’m bound and determined to find the blasted Pumpkin Pudding to make her Chocolate Chip Pecan Pumpkin Pudding Spice Cookies. It’s a mouthful to say, and I sooo wish I had a mouthful of them right now. Gosh, they look so good.
Anyway, I blog over at Sweet Basil where my husband and I are working hard at building a site that “Reinvents Family Dinner” We are all about good food, and good company. We believe that a family that cooks, bakes, and plays together, stays together. The hubby and I met as personal trainers and became good friends which eventually turned into marriage. Now we have two girls and we are so excited to live this wonderful life together. Awwwww. 😉
Sometimes I wish we had a million dollars to travel all over the world as a family and surprise the kids with all sorts of goodies and fun, but then I remember that quote about how most people, when passing away regret not spending more time reading books with their little ones or stopping to play ball in the backyard. You don’t really hear regrets about spending more money on your kids.
That’s where these churro bites come in. We don’t need a million dollars to have fun together, but these sure ended up tasting like a million dollars. Valentines should not just be about couples, it should be a day about spreading the love to everyone around you, especially in your family. Little ones love to create, especially when it’s something sweet in the kitchen. It will bring you closer together and be a more fulfilling Valentines than just a dinner alone as adults.
Guys, they are seriously so delicious and so easy you’ll have plenty of time to sit around and play Chutes and Ladders or watch a fun movie together. (We just took the girls to see Rise of the Guardians. Totally cute movie) So, let’s not forget the ones that give love more freely than any others, our children.

These look delicious. Just one question, what is the butter for? I assume brush on puff pastry. Did I miss that? Thanks.

Did I miss anything ‘cos I’m wondering what the butter is for. It’s listed on the ingredients list but I didn’t find anything about it on the procedure. This recipe looks good though and easy enough! Thanks for sharing!
