One thing I’m loving about the new house is having a bigger kitchen. And a pantry. Oh how I love having a pantry. Even though ours is still looking a little scarce, I look forward to stocking up on pantry staples. Broths and soups. Sauces. Dry pasta, rice, beans. Mac N Cheese for the little and big guy. Cereal. Really excited about cereal.
And of course, I can’t wait to stock up on baking essentials.
After making these little treats as well as those Oreo pudding cookies a couple of weeks ago (scroll down) I think oreos might become a pantry staple as well. Mint and Original.
You might want to stock up on some too. The recipe only calls for 12 oreos so there are plenty left for you to enjoy with a glass of milk, while laying in bed, while watching your fav tv show.
What are your pantry staples? Any tips for a first time pantry owner?

I have a very, very small pantry in our very, very small kitchen in our pretty small apartment. Haha. In it, I always have…
+ A wide variety of soups
+ Dry pasta
+ Pasta sauces
+ Extra jars of satay sauce, hoisin sauce, etc.
+ Extra jars of a variety of nut butters
+ A huge arsenal of nuts, mostly raw, for making home-made nut butters (and for general foraging and snacking!)
+ Baking staples such as flour (regular and whole wheat), sugar (white, powdered, brown, and raw), chocolate chips, candy melts, sprinkles, food coloring, cocoa, etc.
+ Emergency dinners (for when I’m lazy and/or the boyfriend has to feed himself, haha) such as boxed mac & cheese, ramen noodles, chili, etc.
+ Lots and lots of cereal, especially a variety of oats (rolled and steel-cut, currently) and other dry grains/cereals/whatever (quinoa, corn meal, etc.)

Goodness, I can’t wait to have a pantry too. But, for now I will just love my family’s pantry when I go home ๐ My essentials would be almond butter, oats, nuts, trio bars, baking ingredients, and probably much more ๐
