Well, I’m back sooner than I expected. I had only been on the road for an hour on Monday when my car went kaput as I was exiting the freeway to get gas. My husband was in New York, I was over and hour away from home or from family, and Owen was with me. I had no idea what to do. Call my dad who is 8 hours away crying: check. Call my sister-in-law crying: check. Call my friend to to tell her I wouldn’t be coming, still crying: check.
One gentleman pulled over and pushed my car of the road. Another gentleman pulled over and tried to give my car a jump (i wish it would’ve been that quick of a fix). A state trooper came to the rescue, got a towing company there asap, and let Owen and I hang out in his warm car. He even drove us to a nearby restaurant where we waited for my brother-in-law to come get us. I told the officer he didn’t need to wait with us, but he insisted. He said he couldn’t have me looking like a gypsy…..after all, I did have a duffel bag, diaper bag, bumbo, stroller, a car seat, and an 8 month old. Thanks to all who helped!
My car was towed and is still in the auto shop. Apparently it needs a new timing belt. (like I know what that is?) My in-laws have been so kind to let me borrow a car…so I’m not stranded at home all week.
So, instead of enjoying some much needed girl time with my friend, I’m spending my evenings getting to know the Peppermint Ice Cream that magically appeared in my freezer (thank you Sheri) and staying up way too late watching junk television. It has helped a little, okay.
But do you want to know the icing on the cake? Last night, my camera went kaput. I was trying to take pics of some Halloween treats I made. Ugggg.
This just isn’t my week. Husband, hurry home.

I totally understand! our car has not been working right for weeks, sometimes it works others it doesn’t. I am so sorry how and where it happened to you, it is not fair! I hope things get better soon!

OMG that sounds horrible! I’m soooo sorry. I hate car stuff, it always gets me really upset. Let me know if you need anything- a ride, a babysitter…whatever!

Kristy, First off I want to tell you that you can always call me if you need anything! I don’t even care if you are an hour away! You call me!!! Second, I am very sorry that your car broke down and you weren’t able to make your girl trip. That is no fun. I’m glad you are ok and that there were nice people who helped you!
