Homemade hot chocolate, peppermint ice cream, giant mugs and marshmallows you guys. It’s the best thing you can drink this holiday season!
We had the laziest afternoon yesterday, watching movies and drinking these Peppermint Hot Cocoa Floats (and felt completely justified doing so.) Tis the season right?
If you’ve never made homemade hot chocolate the old fashioned way you absolutely need to. It’s so easy and sooo yummy. I used Southern Plate’s Old Fashioned Hot Cocoa but swapped granulated sugar for powdered sugar. You can use either one to sweeten your cocoa.
Once you make the cocoa add one big giant scoop of peppermint ice cream (or any other ice cream) plus a sprinkle of marshmallows on top.
Or if you want to do what the boys did, put marshmallows in the bottom of the mug AND on top. It’s December, let’s just #eatallthesugar 😉
Oh look ↑ cookies too. Because what is hot cocoa and ice cream and marshmallows without cookies??????
I found these enormous mugs at the dollar store earlier this week. Even though Miles threw the world’s largets tantrum over some matchbox cars he wanted, the mugs made it worth it…maybe…yes!
Because we’ll be drinking hot cocoa and hot cocoa floats all.month.long.
