We made the 16 hour drive from San Diego to Colorado! Those 16 hours actually took something more like 20 because road tripping with little kids always adds on a few extra hours. But we are here, up in the mountains spending time with Brett’s family. The boys are in cousin heaven!
We’ll be on the road for three weeks and it’s always tricky balancing a healthy diet with exercise and trying not to indulge in all the good food and treats while vacationing {you know, if we want to call traveling with little kids a vacation;)}! In fact, I just polished off a bowl of my sister-in-law’s caramel corn. Crap, it is gooooood!
Anyways, the few weeks before we left I was really trying to amp up my protein shakes to satisfy my sweet tooth. This Peach Pie Protein Shake totally hits the spot and actually tastes like a treat! I love it after a workout, but also in the afternoon for a treat, or even after dinner (because that’s when I really want dessert)!
If you’re in a rut with your protein shakes, try adding some fruit and play with spices and extracts! You’ll be surprised at what a difference just a dash of cinnamon or splash of almond extract can do!!
Top it with some whipped cream to really make it feel like a treat! Enjoy!
