Hello friends! We had such a great weekend full of Christmasy things and getting into the spirit of the holiday! It really is the best time of the year and so much more magical with kiddos. Some weekends go by and come Monday I’m sooo ready for the boys to be in school again #keepingitreal. But some weekends are just so good (read- not too many tantrums) and I’m not quite ready for Monday. Ya feel me?
This weekend was just so good and I’m wishing we had one more day to adventure together. It has me excited for next weekend:)
Anyways, aside from hot chocolate + these Peppermint Hot Cocoa Floats on repeat, we’re also drinking these Pomegranate Citrus Smoothies, trying to keep those icky coughs and colds away. I know I know, it’s dang near impossible. I’m hoping lots of vitamin C will do the trick, because these smoothies are loaded with it!
Is anyone else obsessed with pomegranates right now?! Like, mad. Need one every day. While we were in Arizona for Thanksgiving my sister-in-law got me hooked, so thanks for that Ash. Maybe because I finally learned how to properly open them ????
They’re such a good source of vitamic C (along with so many other great benefits) so I thought I’d whip up a little smoothie using them (plus, it’s the only way to get my kids to eat them).
All that goes in to this simple smoothie is an orange, some pomegrante arils, greek yogurt, honey, milk, and ice. Seriously too easy. Throw everything in a blender and blend, blend blend!
Drink up and stay healthy friends!
- 1 orange, peeled
- 1/2 cup pomengranite arils
- 1 banana
- 1/4 cup greek yogurt
- 1-2 tbs honey
- 4-6 oz milk or almond milk
- 1/2 cup crushed iced
- Place everything in a powerful blender, like blendtec, and blend until smooth!
- add more or less honey and ice to get the desired sweetness and consistency.
