I’ve added a Life page on Sweet Treats & More where you’ll be able to find posts about my Family & Kids, Fitness, and Travel. There’s nothing really there yet, but I decided that occasionally it would be fun to blog about things other than food. Like life with two little boys, adventures in running, favorite new workouts, and someday our adventures in travel (when we actually travel somewhere outside of the four corner states. Hint hint to my husband.)
So hopefully you don’t mind taking a break from food now and then and will enjoy some of these other topics…..like today’s. Running. And super cute workout clothes you should probably get asap.
On Saturday, I ran the Salt Lake Half Marathon. It was windy and rainy and I was soaked and freezing by the end (that would be why I’m hogging the blanket in the picture above). But it was one of the most fun and fulfilling races I’ve ran. It’s been my goal after having both babies to run a half marathon sometime before they turn one. Miles is 10 months old so I barely checked that one off the list.
So while that was an accomplishment, more importantly, there were almost 7000 runners who ran on Saturday, many of who were “running for Boston“, dedicating our run that day to all of the individuals affected by the bombing at the Boston Marathon. That was a great feeling. And I was just grateful to be running Saturday. My numb hands, my soaking wet clothes, and the blisters on my toes didn’t matter much.
I finished the race in 1 hour 41 minutes and can’t wait to do another one in June. Hopefully finishing a little faster and dryer:)
