This post is brought to you in partnership with El Monterey. All opinions are my own!
I don’t know about your kiddos, but my boys are starrrrrrving when they walk in the door from school! Owen will get home right around two o’clock and what we typically consider an after school snack is really more like a second lunch, lol. Seriously he’s famished after school. We eat dinner around six so I need something that will hold them off for several hours. AND chances are there will be a few extra boys running around our house after school so I need to feed the whole army.
We need something a little more substantial than just veggies and dip.
I like to have lots of fruits and veggies sliced and ready for after school snacks + pair them with something else that will hold them off until dinner time. Like veggies, taquitos and dip, haha. The boys love El Monterey’s Taquitos so I’ll bake them + cut in half, then serve them with this tasty Greek Yogurt Taco Dip (as well as some veggies). The boys love it and it tides them over ’til dinner time! We love that El Monterey’s frozen foods are made with real, fresh ingredients too. Serving them alongside a healthier dip (packed with a little extra protein) and some sliced peppers and carrots it’s a snack I feel really good about!
A platter like this would also make for a quick and easy family dinner! Plus, El Monterey has several options of Mexican food favorites to choose from that just make meal times easier!
Don’t let Owen’s face fool you. He was being a little camera shy but they both gobbled them up!
Miles’ face is a little more accurate! I can always get my kids to eat a little more if they have something to dip their food in! And they couldn’t get enough of this Greek Yogurt Taco Dip. It’s so easy and I love to have it on hand throughout the week!
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 tbsp taco seasoning (more if desired)
- 1 tsp garlic seasoning
- 3 tbsp finely chopped cilantro
- Whisk greek yogurt, sour cream, taco seasoning, and garlic together. Stir in chopped cilantro, and season with salt and pepper if desired.

I always fall for such creamy sauce like this one. I used it for other fried dishes to help me not fed up with them too fast and it was delicious.
