Fall football parties have kind of become a tradition for us, something we look forward to every year when September rolls around. Brett and I aren’t crazy die-hard football fans, but we do love to watch a good game, get together with friends, and eat good food doing so. We have our teams we like to follow (go BYU and OSU), but really football is just an excuse to have a party ๐ Agreed??
Especially a party that dishes a load of Tastykake treats and Tastykake Cake Shakes โโ (!!!!)
Have you guys tried Tastykake snack cakes? They orginated on the east coast but are currenlty expanding into multiple areas. Visit Tastykakes’ store locator to find them near you. They’re an iconic Philly treat. There’s a variety of snack cakes to choose from, and there’s certainly something for everyone–peanut butter lovers, chocolate lovers, butterscotch lovers. And they taste so fresh. You’ve gotta try them, you know, when you feel like breaking all the rules and indulging a little…
Isn’t that what football parties are all about though…good food and indulging?
Tastykake sent us some of their popular goodies to kick off the football season with a Tastykake game day party. We’re talking Butterscotch Krimpets, Peanut Butter Kandy Kakes, and Chocolate Donuts! Sweets galore….seriously. So we had some friends over (and all six of their kids!) for the first home BYU game. Our small house was packed, but you better believe everything got devoured.
We barely had room for Cake Shakes at half time.
Ohhh, the cake shakes. Butterscotch-caramel shakes made with Butterscotch Krimpets and vanilla ice cream. The krimpets are fluffy little sponge cakes topped with Butterscotch icing. Blended up in vanilla ice cream and topped with whipped cream and caramel–these babies are irresistible. Even when you’re stuffed!
- 12 oz vanilla ice cream
- 4 oz whole milk
- 2 Tastykake Butterscotch Krimpets
- 1 tbsp caramel sauce
- Whipped cream
- In a blender, blend ice cream, milk, and krimpets together until smooth. Pour into one 16 oz glass (or two 8 oz glasses), top with whipped cream and caramel sauce and serve!
I certainly wouldn’t mind making these a game-day tradition! I’ve just gotta get my hands on more Tastykake Krimpets!
So tell me, do you guys enjoy getting together with friends for some football? What are some of your favorite game day traditions?
