It’s no wonder where Sloppy Joes get their name. I’ve never eaten one that wasn’t sloppy, have you?
Well, meet the even Sloppier Joe. Not kidding, you’ll be licking your lips, fingers, and then licking up all the drippings on the plate. Not that I did.. no… I would never…but my husband sure did ๐ He had church meetings and didn’t get home until late, so I enjoyed my sloppy meal with Joe, fixed Brett a plate then put everything away. (I froze the meat so we can have them again next week.) He was slightly disappointed when he went to get thirds and the meat was gone. When the hubby is going for thirds, that’s when you know you’ve made a good meal.
Turkey Sloppy Joes
Ingredients
1 pkg honeysuckle white ground turkey
2 tbs vegetable oil
1 medium onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, seeded and chopped
1 1/2 c. chili sauce. ( I used 1 can tomato sauce + 2 tbs brown sugar + 1 tsp chili powder)
2 tbs Worcestershire sauce
6, 4 inch hamburger buns
Green leaf lettuce, optional
1 medium tomoato, optional
Instructions
Heat oil in large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Cook onion and bell pepper until softened, about 5 minutes.
Add turkey; crumble and cook until no longer pink, about 5 minutes; drain. Stir in chili sauce and Worcestershire sauce. Cook covered over low heat for 10 minutes.
Divide mixture evenly over bottom of buns. Layer on lettuce and tomato if desired. Top with remaining buns.

I love that you made your own buns (which makes you awesome). I hated sloppy joes as a kid, then I revisted them about a year ago. Needless to say – love them! Thanks for the dinner idea.
