Quick and Easy Popcorn Treat!
If you know me at all you know how much I love popcorn, and chocolate. And if you really know me you know my obsession with Angie’s BOOMCHICKAPOP is real. Brett just laughs at me when I walk in the house from a trip to the grocery store with four bags of BOOMCHICKAPOP, one already opened and nearly gone! GIMME ALL THE POPCORN GUYS. I’m a sucker.
The boys love packing the BOOMCHICKAPOP Sweet & Salty Kettle Corn in their lunches for a treat, and I like snacking on the Sea Salt Popcorn during their day or having a bowl after all five kiddos are down for the night. Angie’s BOOMCHICKAPOP popcorn is made with simple ingredients, whole grains, and have the best flavor! It’s just an easy, better-for-you-snack to grab!
But when I’m craving something a little indulgent, I have this healthier little popcorn treat I like to whip up! I like to make it when Brett and I are doing a movie night in or a night of self care all to myself! You know, just veg, put on my favorite face mask, and watch a chick flick with my popcorn. Anyone else do this every once and while. It’s my little way of celebrating the fact I survived another week of the craziness of school!
Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Coconut Popcorn
Yep! It’s this sweet and salty, dark chocolatey, peanut butter and coconutty popcorn mix and I just love it so much! I’ve been making it every weekend!
Here’s how:
I like to sprinkle a little Angie’s BOOMCHICKAPOP Sea Salt Popcorn and arrange it on a cookie sheet, then cover it with a melted coconut oil, dark chocolate and peanut butter mixture. Then top it with some shredded toasted coconut. Pop it in the freezer to let the chocolate firm up, then pull it out and enjoy!
And when I’m feeling a little wild I’ll do half Angies BOOMCHICKAPOP Sea Salt Popcorn with the Sweet & Salty Kettle!

The chocolate melts a little as it sits at room temperature, so it can get a little messy but I have no qualms with it. It’s finger-licking-good 😉
It’s really the perfect indulgent, but still kinda healthier treat. And I like to make a small batch so I can’t go too crazy. But by all means, make it bigger if you’re making it for the whole fam or a crowd!Promise me you’ll try it? Make it this weekend when you need a little mom break or for movie night!
Here’s how you make it:
Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Coconut Popcorn
Yield 1-2
Ingredients
2 cups Angie's BOOMCHICKAPOP Sea Salt Popcorn (or half and half Sea Salt + Sweet & Salty Kettle Corn)
1/2 tbsp coconut oil
1/2 tbsp peanut butter
1 1/2 oz dark chocolate chunks
3 tbs unsweetened toasted flaked coconut
Instructions
Arrange the popcorn in a single layer on a cookie sheet.
Melt the coconut oil, peanut butter, and dark chocolate together in a small microwave safe bowl, microwaving in 30 second increments, then stirring. Do not overcook. Drizzle the chocolate mixture over the popcorn. Top with toasted coconut. Pop in the freezer for 10 minutes before enjoying!
