Let’s talk about these Mixed Berry Protein Smoothie Bowls shall we?! And maybe have a little chat about self improvement while we devour them?
This year I’m partnering with goodnessknows Snack Squares who challenged me to try something new! Something to help me in my own journey of self-improvement. When was the last time you did something new? And not just died your hair a new color or tried a new restaurant or food, but something that really stretched you, or changed in you some way, helped you grow? Mine is to journal. Not on the internet. And not just in the tiny squares of instagram. Only for me (and someday my family to see). Sometimes when I pause to think about how fast my little family is changing and growing, I panic. Am I going to remember it all? The tiny details. Small moments of our day-to-day. The funny things they say and do, the adorable, the awful. The ups and downs. The days I feel like I have my crap together and the days I completely don’t. And it’s not just about remembering, but reflecting. And also disconnecting from devices, and actually writing without distraction.
Before I had kids I used to write in my journal several times a week. And then I became a mom and just kind of stopped. It kills me. So even though it’s not completely new to me and something I want to try AGAIN, my goal is to do it once a week. Sundays just make the most sense for me.
And here’s where the smoothie bowls come in!!! Eat something tasty while doing it–berry smoothie bowls and writing are a good combo. And these bowls are diiiiivine!!! Perfection. Made with almond milk, a frozen banana, frozen berries, and optional protein powder (if you’re into that- I am!)
Blend it up until it’s thick and creamy and pour it into a bowl (makes 2 by the way). Smoothies bowls aside, I’m obsessed with these goodnessknows snack squares. They are the perfect bite-sized snacks with four squares-in-a-package for just 150 calories! With dried fruits and nuts and dark chocolate, my favorite combos ever! Three new flavors that I’m so in love with-

Mixed Berry Protein Smoothie Bowls
- 8 oz unsweetened almond milk
- 1 frozen banana, sliced
- 1 heaping cup frozen berries
- 1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- sliced banana
- fresh berries
- 4 goodnessknows mixed berry snack squares, (two for each bowl)
- Place everything in a powerful blender and blend together until thick and smooth. Pour into two bowls. Top with sliced bananas, fresh berries of choice, and goodnessknows snack square pieces.
