We can’t even believe it!! Our Twin Gender Reveal will forever be on of our best memories!
We’ve been on cloud nine since we found out the genders of our twins last Monday! I waited 20 weeks to find out. I’m not really sure why, I’ve never waited this long….but a part of me was nervous to know, and part of me just reaaally wanted to be sure they got it right?! So last Monday I had my 20 week anatomical ultrasound with perinatology…..that lasted a whopping three and half hours. These two babes were being stubborn. And everything just takes longer with two. But my friend was throwing us a gender reveal party THAT night so there was no way I was leaving without the tech seeing the genders. She finally got them, sealed them in an envelope, and I anxiously waited until that evening to find out with the rest of my family! (and noooo, I didn’t peek!)
My friend Kelly has the most beautiful back yard where we held the party, and I’m so thankful to her for hosting it! We didn’t waste anytime and got right to the reveal (so we could all relax and EAT!) My boys all thought it would be one boy, one girl, and so did most every one else. I was expecting boys, I had to. Like, could I really make any thing other than boys???!
But we got ONE OF EACH! A BOY AND A GIRL!!
These are just my “I knew it faces!” when the first smoke bomb was blue. Not disappointed. Just “I.knew.it”
And immediately after seeing the blue on the first one my heart started racing and whole body was shaking. I was suddenly so nervous for the second.
Too nervous to look……And I love how Brett is apparently too nervous to breath ๐
But PINK! PINK, PINK, PINK, PINK, PINK! I couldn’t believe it!
I love how Brett and Owen react the same way–just smiling and laughing, and Miles and I react the same- TOTALLY FREAKING OUT! Maybe he gets his emotions from his mama.
The smoke bombs we used for our twin gender reveal are from Gender Reveal Supplies. We ordered extras and tested them out beforehand, just to make sure the smoke color was bold enough and just so we knew what we were dealing with–didn’t want any mishaps or #genderrevealfail (search that on insta–there’s some good ones).
Also– my friend purposefully put the boy first! Baby A is technically the girl, and baby B is the boy. Well played, Kelly, well played!
These boys are so excited to meet their baby sister and baby brother! Owen asked a handful of times if they’ll be born in 2017 or 2018, before or after Christmas, and Miles asks how much longer every.single.day. And Graham…well, he’s telling people there’s 2 boys and 2 girls in mommy’s tummy so he might just be a little confused on the whole thing.
We can all say we cannot wait to meet these two!! And now, we can finally start planning, and shopping, and really playing the name game!! If you watched the video of when we first found out we were having twins, you know emotions and fears were high. The emotions from that moment and this moment of finding out the genders, are so different! Both so EMOTIONAL, but so different! There’s still so much I’m nervous and scared about, but I feel so much more excitement and anxiousness to meet them and just get them here! I don’t think too much about once they’re here and how we’ll survive??? ๐

We’re still on cloud nine and just so excited! Thanks for sharing in our excitement with us!
