We got home from our seven day cruise on Sunday. It was the best vacation ever (pictures to come!) I already miss the sunshine, the beautiful beaches, and the hot sand on my feet. The best part though, was feeling like I was dating my husband again…every single day. Getting all fancied up for dinner…having time to actually get fancied up for dinner. Talking to him. We got to talk a lot, without kids interrupting every five seconds. It was so nice.
Don’t get me wrong though, by the end of our trip I was so ready to get home to the boys. We got home Sunday after missing our connecting flight home due to a bomb threat on our first flight (yeah, it was a nightmare). When we finally got home all I wanted to do was snuggle the heck out of them.
So yesterday was kind of a lazy, lay-around, snuggle-and-watch-movies kind of day. With about ten loads of laundry in between….
…And a few Raspberry Oreo Milkshakes as well. Not exactly what I should be eating after the amount of food I consumed last week, but oh well. Back on track today…hopefully.
These shakes are as easy as they sound. Vanilla ice cream + fresh raspberries + Oreos and a little milk blended into a thick and creamy milkshake. The boys love Oreo shakes but the raspberries give it a fun, fruity twist and they loved it! Obviously I did too.
A little whipped cream, crushed Oreos and a raspberry on top makes them quite cute and festive for a Valentine’s Day treat too!
- 1 1/2 cups vanilla ice cream
- 1 cup fresh raspberries
- 6-8 Oreos (more or less to desired taste!)
- 1/4 cup milk
- Place everything in a blender and blend until thick and creamy, like a milkshake!
- **makes one giant shake or two small shakes
